A colony of the Gentoo penguins surrounds Chile's Gabriel Gonzalez Videla research station in Antarctica.

It is an animal with leucism. Although pigmentation is present, it is not present across the whole animal. These cases are seen in different species, there are eases of giraffes,even some fields, where they have pigmentation but it is not generalised pigment.

Therefore when we talk about leucism, it is different from albinism,where there is a complete lack of pigment.

Here at (the base) Gabriel Gonzalez Videla there are 14 of us live in the middle of a colony of Gentoo penguins, there are hundreds of them, it's incredible. Every day there is something different to see, every day Antarctica and this beautiful place surprise us with something different.​
