He was a man who didn't care about others and was good at ignoring opportunities to help. He cared for no one but himself. In different occasions, he refused to keep the elevator doors open to accommodate a woman who was in a hurry, let pass the balloon that a little girl had accidentally had lost grip of the string because of a sneeze, snubbed a shopping cart that came rolling in front him on the side of the street and kept the man running after it, ignored the volunteer who was handing out flyers for charity. Everything was going pretty normal for Mr. Indifferent until one day he while he was standing at the corner of a street to cross, he felt a hand suddenly grasping his arm. It was of an old lady who was wanting to cross the street with him. Mr. Indifferent was hesitant. He felt like something was wrong. He was not supposed to be helping an old lady cross the street but the woman kept walking alongside him. They both took one slow step at a time not realizing the lights have already turned red for them. Mr. Indifferent looked on one side and saw a card zooming towards their direction. He covered the old lady with his body and raised his hand to stop the car. They were safe. They were already on the other side of the street when the old lady reached for Mr. Indifferent's face and pressed it gently like a child's cute chubby cheeks as a gesture of thanks. The moment struck Mr. Indifferent inside. The incident turned his life around. He started making up for all his indifferences and made sure to more for others.
